What began as a way to keep family and friends updated on Tracy’s illness soon became something more. In the middle of the chaos, the porch became my refuge—a quiet place away from the phone calls, responsibilities, and constant uncertainty.
Out there, I could breathe.
Inside, we were living in a whirlwind of emotions—fear, exhaustion, hope, and faith all tangled together. Some days felt overwhelming, but instead of running away, I ran to the porch.
It became my place of reflection, prayer, and strength.
Those quiet moments became my porch time—conversations with God, with my heart, and with the hope that tomorrow would bring a little more light.
And that is where this journey begins.

About the Author
Lynn Marie Grass is a successful businesswoman, wife, and proud mother of three grown sons. She lives with her husband, Jeff, in Hermann, Missouri. Lynn has many artistic talents and enjoys needlework, diamond art, scrapbooking, and journaling—creative outlets that reflect her thoughtful and caring spirit.
Born and raised in the Washington, Missouri area, Lynn later made her home in Hermann. Throughout her career, she has worked in the customer service industry, always guided by a genuine desire to help others and make a difference in people’s lives.
On September 14, 2000, Lynn went to dinner with Tracy Taylor, and that evening changed their lives forever. Exactly one year later, Lynn and Tracy blended their families, bringing together four sons and beginning what would become a remarkable love story.
After several years facing the challenges of diabetes, kidney failure, and the difficult journey toward a transplant—along with ongoing heart issues—Lynn tragically lost Tracy to a heart attack.
This is the story of Tracy and Lynn, the life they built together, and the journey they shared—a true love story for the ages.
